Agropolitan has been considered as a solution for minimizing the impact of urbanization and creating an equitable development between rural and urban areas. It has been one of the programs mentioned in spatial planning agendas of the Government of Central Java. In Central Java, agropolitan has been started since 2002 and, however,  has left many problems related to the implementation of the program. The objective of this study is to evaluate the implementation of Agropolitan in Central Java. The research was conducted from April to October 2019. The sample location was selected purposively according to the performance of the agribusiness sub-terminal in the location. The methods used are pre-surveys, focus group discussions, and in-depth interviews with farmer respondents, traders, and officers involved in agropolitan activities. Data were analyzed using scoring factors and descriptive qualitative. The results of the study showed that in terms of projects, the implementation of agropolitan activities was in the GOOD category, but in terms of sustainability it was in the MEDIUM category. This is due to the undeveloped subsystems that support the development of the agropolitan area, and the facilities built are still operating independently, and are not yet interrelated with one another. As Agropolitan is still one of the priorities of Central Java Government, it is recommended to optimize or reactivate the Agropolitan working group, increase human resource capacity, and develop specific location products in the agropolitan area that could enhance the region's competitiveness.
